Our volunteers have different roles

Community Champions – make a commitment to regular weekly visits to a client either at home or taking trips out together.  The relationship is reviewed after a year.

Digital Champions – usually a shorter commitment helping a client to get online or to develop their skills, the sessions are held in the clients home at their pace.  We provide additional training for digital champions.

Telephone Champions – a volunteer who agrees to ring a client once a week for a chat.

Pen Pals – some people prefer to receive a letter or an email and this is suitable for volunteers who themselves have limited mobility.

Hosting – some of our volunteers assist at training events and particularly at our Community Gatherings.

How to volunteer

Please get in touch to find out more either by phone 01858 439262 or by messaging us .  You will need to complete a registration form, IiV colourattend an informal interview following which we take up references, you will be invited to attend a training course (approx six hours) and then we can arrange an introduction.

We offer additional optional training opportunities eg hearing loss, bereavement awareness and first aid

We pay travel expenses and offer a chance to develop your own community.
