Community Support

Community Support is provided through  Voluntary Action Leicestershire (VAL)    Rather than running  local forums, VAL now run themed events.

At each of these you will  have a chance to learn about  a specific topic:

Network – meet others working in your area and share ideas.

Develop – learn from others and explore opportunities to work and collaborate together.

Influence – engage decision-makers, access local VCS representatives and form a collective voice.

You can see what is on offer here  http://www.valonline.org.uk/groups/forums-voice/find-your-forum

Also available:

Training – book on to a free training course delivered before or after a forum session.

One-to-one support – book an appointment with a VAL support officer at a forum, for help on areas such as funding, planning and governance.

 Finding out about Volunteering.

VASL has many volunteering opportunities and you can find out about them here.  https://vasl.org.uk/volunteering

You can drop into Market Harborough Library 10:00 – 12:00 on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month to have a chat with one of the VAL team.

You don’t need an appointment and meeting with an advisor is completely free.

Their advisors have experience in providing advice on issues such as volunteering with additional needs. Confidential consultation space is available
