Meet the Clients

Meet the Clients

VASL is a charity which improves the lives of family carers and people who are isolated, lonely or want a mental health boost, in Harborough district and Leicestershire. We provide volunteer powered transportation and support services, benefiting our clients, the community and the volunteers themselves.

VASL serves a wide range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life, through our five main services. We’d like you to meet a few of the people who use our services…

Support for Carers

Support for Carers is our largest service supports Carers across Leicestershire County.

It can be very difficult caring for a loved one, most people do not recognise themselves as Carers but once they do, they can access help and support in many ways.

In 2018 we made a series of videos featuring Carers that had used our Support for Carers Leicestershire Service < Please click on the links below to see what Judy, Linda and Philip have to say.

  • Judy cared for Don for many years and they made this poignant film.
  • Linda has cared for her husband for many years and although he eventually went into a home, she still devoted her time to him.
  • Philip says there isn’t any training you do to become a carer, you just become one due to circumstance.

VASL car scheme

VASL Car Scheme provides transport for elderly, disabled or rurally isolated people who can’t use, or have no access to public transport. See the difference it has made to some of our service users below by clicking on the link in their names.
