Community Gatherings

VASL IMAGE GROUP CONVERSATIONWe meet up once a month, usually for coffee in a venue which is accessible.  The purpose of these gatherings is to enable people to meet others in the project in a safe environment, and to extend their local social network.

Clients often come with their volunteer the first time, but soon feel happy to come on their own knowing that they will be welcomed.  We can provide transport and we pay for a hot drink for everyone.

“Thank you all for another wonderful gathering.  Made some more friends and really enjoyed the lovely venue along with the tea and cakes ”

IMG_6172We have enjoyed visits from the Harborough Movie Makers, the Harborough Museum, Kibworth Ladies choir and had a meeting with Harborough Oadby and Wigston MP Neil O’Brien.

More reports of our meetings are in our newsletters

Community Gatherings

We have a lovely problem – our gatherings are very popular, so for three months from May 2019 we are going to have two gatherings a month, one with transport provided and one that encourages people to travel independently.  You can only attend one gathering in a month and the number who can attend the one with transport will be limited.

In September we are meeting at Market Harborough Golf Club on Tuesday 10th September from 2.30-3.15pm with transport available if booked one week before.  The maximum number for this event is 30.

On Tuesday 17th September those who can make their own way there are welcome to join us at the Market Cafe on Northampton Road, MH from 2.00-3.15pm.

The gatherings are for members of the project, they are not open to the public.
