VASL has received further funding for Leicestershire Support for Carers, the contract was awarded by Leicestershire County Council for three years plus one.This ensures that we will be able to continue supporting carers across the county of Leicestershire through our telephone support line, district and online groups for carers to meet together and a telephone befriending service.
The Carers Passport was a development during the last contract and it aids the easy recognition of carers in a variety of settings and enable access to services and support. By working with local cafes and Leisure Centres carers can receive a hot drink or access to an exercise session.
Maureen O’Malley, VASL Charity Manager, said “We are delighted to have received this further funding which reflects the value of the support which we have been able to give to carers in the county. I would like to pay tribute to the staff who have continued to support carers, particularly when their concerns were amplified by the restrictions of the pandemic. We look forward to continuing to provide an excellent service”
