Support for Carers Roles

Carers Dementia Guardian

Offering vital face-to-face and telephone support to dedicated carers looking after loved ones living with dementia.

Telephone Befrienders

Provide regular phone calls to the carers of Leicestershire, making a huge impact on their daily lives.

One morning or afternoon a week (no weekends).

Community Champions Roles

Digital Volunteers

Visit isolated people at home to show them how to navigate, enjoy, and benefit safely from the internet.

Telephone Champions

Call isolated and lonely people on a regular basis, providing rich companionship, practical support, and information.

Befriending Visitors & Callers

Visit or call older people living alone in Harborough District to share news and actively listen. (Office hours execution).

Car Scheme Roles

Chaperones for Young Carers Project

Accompany young carers whilst they are being transported to and from their enrichment activities.

Drivers for Young Carers Project (HCYC)

Provide transport to help young carers travel to and from their dedicated support groups run by HCYC.

Car Scheme – Drivers

Help people in areas with no public transport safely reach vital hospital and medical appointments. (Approved expenses provided).

Governance Roles

Become a Trustee

Join our Board of Trustees to help shape the overall governance and strategic direction of VASL. Requires attending a bi-monthly meeting.
