Leics & Rutland Freemasons Grant

We are delighted to share the news that the Leicestershire and Rutland Freemasons have awarded us a grant of £60,000 towards the costs of our Carers’ Dementia Guardians project. This aims to support carers and people living with dementia.

It is an existing service managed by a Project Coordinator responsible for referrals, assessments, matching volunteers and overseeing group supervision so volunteers gain peer and staff support.
Carers Dementia Guardians (CGD) provides weekly support sessions from a volunteer plus advice, advocacy and key work support. Volunteers provide wellbeing support, links to services and social activities, accessing an Energy Consultant to assist with their home’s energy efficiency, and making a room dementia friendly.

If you are interested in volunteering with the project which covers Harborough District please contact us on 01858 468 543 and ask for Lynda, or email admin@vasl.org.uk.

Funding such as this makes a huge impact on the charity and the people that we support.
