his week is Loneliness Awareness Week and there is lots online regarding the latest findings, which more or less say that at some time or other – we are all lonely!. The June gathering for our Community Champions project was at The Fox Pond in Oadby and as so many people seem to have birthdays in June we sang a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday”.
We also had a visit from Kay and Peter from Leicester University who are doing research on how loneliness and social isolation affect older people. Penny, one of our volunteers also told us about the new regular show she has on Radio Leicester – you can’t say we are not well connected!
