We know how difficult these last few months have been for many of our people and as winter approaches we wondered what we could do to support our clients, particularly those who are not online.
We have created activity bags which include a hyacinth bulb, a puzzle book, an edible treat and for Community Champions clients a mascot knitted by one of the volunteers. It has been great to work with the Morse Bags volunteers who have given us a bag for each person, and we grateful to the National Lottery Community fund who have provided the funding as part of their commitment to impact loneliness and the effects of covid-19.
The bags will be going out to people involved with the Car Scheme and Community Champions who live alone and are not online.
The first forty have now been delivered and we are thrilled that they have had such an impact. There will be a short pause while we talk to the recipients to check that we have made got a good selection of items. Our commitment is to deliver all of the bags by the end of December.
