The Big Help Out marks His Majesty The King’s Coronation by giving everyone the chance to lend a hand, and make a difference in their communities.
VASL has been working locally with volunteers for many years and we offer full training and support, with opportunities to get to know other volunteers.
Our volunteering opportunities are all ongoing, rather than for one day, and vary between an hour a week (telephone befriending) to a day or more (volunteer drivers).
Our volunteers support family carers (phone), people who want to improve their wellbeing (phone), people who are lonely (visits or phone), people caring for someone with dementia (visits or phone).
Our volunteer drivers take people who don’t have access to other transport to medical and other appointments.
Our Trustees provide experience and guidance to ensure that VASL is run correctly.
From time to time we recruit volunteers to work within the office.
