Who We Are

VASL is a local charity providing services and support across Harborough District and Leicestershire.

We are based in Market Harborough, near the Leisure Centre and Two Shires Doctors Surgery, and also provide many of our services across Broughton Astley, Lutterworth, Kibworth and Fleckney. Our Support for Carers Leicestershire service is delivered across Leicestershire county, and we have groups in Blaby, Charnwood, Hinckley and Bosworth, Oadby and Wigston, and North West Leicestershire.

Our mission is:

“To improve and enrich the lives of people in our community by providing services as well as volunteer facilitated activities.”

We deliver high quality services that are funded by Children in Need, The National Lottery Community Fund, Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council, with additional support from local organisations, donations and grants, see more. Our main source of strength is our lovely volunteers, who make such a difference to people in our community.

We currently have five main services that are dedicated to improving the lives of family carers and people who are isolated, lonely or want to improve their mental health. This includes our Community Champions initiative, which focuses on services and support for older people. This video gives an overview of some of the things we do and the impact they have.

We are committed to expanding our services, wherever possible, to meet the needs of our community in fresh ways.
